Cleaning your Clearomiser

Your clearomiser won’t last forever, it too ages like everything else and will eventually need replacing. Clearomisers can last anywhere between a couple of weeks to a few months. The lifespan of a clearomiser depends on the quality of the cleaormiser, how often you use it, the type of e-liquid you use and the battery and voltage levels in your device.

Although it won’t last forever you can help it last a little longer by giving it a little clean from time to time. Luckily, cleaning a clearomiser is quick and easy and just requires a little rinse under the tap with some warm water. This helps remove any build up of solidified e-liquid on the coils and the wicks.

Rinse your clearomiser by letting the water run through the inside of the clearomiser from top to bottom. Don’t worry if the coils and wicks get wet, you should allow these too rinse too. Once rinsed give your clearomiser time to dry out thoroughly, the ideal time is around 24 hours in a cool or warm room. Using a clearomiser that hasn’t dried completely will lead to problems with performance as water vaporises at a higher temperature than e-liquids so this will lead to a failure to produce vapour effectively when vaping.

How do I know when to clear my Clearomiser?

A burnt taste, weak vapour or weaker flavour taste may all be signs that your clearomiser is struggling to heat up and produce vapour as efficiently as it once did. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms try giving it a rinse as described above.

The above symptoms are also signs of a clearomiser that is on its way out. While cleaning your clearomiser may help extend its life by a few days you’ll eventually need to order some new clearomisers. In the long run it may be cheaper if you replace the coils in your clearomiser only rather than replacing with a new clearomiser each time.
